Why have an assessment?
- An assessment will reveal a lot about how your brain works
- This will enable you to understand why you are good at some tasks and struggle with other, often apparently simple, tasks.
- It allows you to make informed decisions about the future
- An assessment enables a specialist to make specific recommendations for support and training
- If you wish to apply for support through either the Disabled Students Allowance (DSA) or Access to Work (AtW) you will need a diagnostic assessment
What does a diagnostic assessment consist of?
- An interview to explain the process, gather background information and answer questions
- The assessment - a range of short cognitive, attainment and diagnostic assessments are carried out
- A post- assessment consultation to go through the written report and discuss the recommendations
- A follow up telephone call about a month later to answer any queries that may have arisen
Dyslexia Solution Assessments
- All our assessments are carried out in accordance with DfES guidelines
- Reports are produced in the recommended format
- Average waiting times for assessments and reports are minimal
